Utilizing your wardrobe storage properly is really important in a nursery we are lucky enough to have big wardrobe and so lots of space in the wardrobes, a lot of the tips I am running through today are also appropriate if you only have a small robe as well as utilizing the very top and bottom of the space will give you more room. We have not had these built in yet and so I have done some additional things in the nursery to use all of this space.
This is one of the sides of the robe. Matching hangers helps give a wardrobe unity and I also think that hanging sets of things together like pants/ long sleeved tops together also creates a neat look. Extra storage boxes at the top of the wardrobe are great for holding bits and pieces you don’ t use all of the time. I also have a few large clear storage tubs on the floor of the robe.

This is one of the 3 doors of Flynn’s wardrobe. As we don’t have built in’s done in the robe yet I have had to buy additional Ikea storage to be able to use the space effectively. I bought the large white boxes and then labelled them according to what storage I needed in there for example- nappies, pram accessories (like rain covers etc), wipes.
For extra hanging space I bought the large white hangers from Ikea for Linen storage in the nursery. I have linen, blankets, wraps, slings/feeding covers, towels, quilts etc. It has been a great way to have easy access to everything over the last few years and especially now that we are having a second child all of the linen is there ready to go (once washed).

And here are a few more larger photo’s of his room as this was the most requested thing wanted by everyone in the Q and A post I did a few weeks ago. This is the left hand wall as you walk into the room.

Flynn’s bookcase, this is great storage for gifts, teddies, books etc.

Love it! I love the Boori furniture I have the same in Walnut. I love those hanging shelves I need to organise Cooper’s room so I love this idea! Thanks so much Jade!
Hey Jade.
Another question. How do you clean Flynn’s room? We have two asthmatic’s who share a room, and one has a dustmite allergy.
How do you keep on top of dust etc All the little teddies, and knick knacks etc
Thanks
Thanks Jen, I love the Boori furniture it is such great quality : ) Paulette- mmm to be honest I am not really a “cleaner” LOL I only do what I have to, that must be really tough for you!! I would keep knick knacks to an absolute minimum in that situation and baby wipes are your friend, I use them for wiping down heaps of stuff !!
Odd question – where did you get those hangers? I’ve been looking for some like that for ages.
