Healthy Cheese Sauce For Vegetables, Chicken or Fish

Serves 6

60g butter
1/4 cup low fat tasty cheese
2 cups low fat milk
1/4 cup flour

Method

Melt butter in a saucepan over a low-medium heat. Once butter is completely melted stir in flour using a whisk. Cook for 1.5-2 minutes until it bubbles. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in the milk a little at a time until combined. Return saucepan to the heat and cook while continuously stirring for 4-5 minutes until sauce boils and thickens. Remove saucepan from the heat and stir in cheese.

Use the cheese in small ramekins for dipping vegetables or even fruit such as apples!
